|RS3 structure display plug-in replacement on Specs.net
In case you are still using the RS3 structure display browser plug-in to edit and view chemical structures on Specs.net we are sending this announcement;
Please note that within coming weeks the RS3 structure display will be phased-out of the Specs.net on-line chemistry search system. This aged plug-in will be replaced by the JDraw java applet of Accelrys which also offers the comparable copy/paste features of this plug-in.
What do I need to display structures on Specs.net in future?
No additional software or plug-ins are required for drawing and displaying chemical structures when having a proper Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your client system. Either the JDraw (Accelrys) or JME (Java Molecular Editor) Java applet can be used to display chemical content as set by your user settings. Optionally, the chemistry depiction in this on-line compound library also supports the MDL Chime plug-in.
