|Enhanced customer security; Specs is a fully PCI DSS compliant company
Starting from Jan 1'st 2011, all companies who accept credit card payments for MC (MasterCard) and VISA were requested to comply with additional anti-fraud and security measures regarding the use and storage of sensitive credit card details.
We are pleased to announce that last year, Specs was certified as a fully PCI DSS compliant company (www.pcisecuritystandards.org).
These added security measures, generally also known as 3-D Secure will have to be used for all on-line credit card payments with Mastercard (MasterCard Securecode) and Visa (Verified by Visa). The effect of adding 3-D Secure will add the need of an additional credit card payment authorization via the credit card provider's website and will be automatically implemented in the Specs.net on-line payment tools as well. Please read more about the additional 3-D security authorizations on the website of your credit card provider (MC: www.mastercard.com VISA: www.visa.com).
To activate these security measures, please fully activate your 'Securecode' or 'Verified by Visa' for web payments. It is advisable NOT to use the 'activate on pay' option because this could create troubles during web payments due to too large timeout values.
AMEX (American Express), currently has no 3-D secure program yet but they are likely to develop such feature in future.
