International Sales Manager (m/f)

 

Specs, founded in 1987, provides products and services required for drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Today, Specs is world's leading provider of compound management services besides being a main supplier of screening compounds and building blocks to the Life Science industry.

 

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and world-class expertise Specs provides customers with custom-tailored services and breakthrough solutions, allowing them to concentrate on the development of their core (research) activities.

 

More than 20 years of compound handling experience is offered to our customers. These compound management services, consisting of compound purchasing, registration, weighing, plating, labeling, reformatting, quality control, shipping and storage or managing their (historical) compound collections, is released from the overall organization and investments in personnel, hardware and software. All requested activities in the ?turnkey? project are carefully implemented in customizable software that controls every step of the process by barcode reading. The end product of such a project is an organized collection with uniformity in vial type, labels, barcodes and details concerning tare weights and contents of the vials. Over the past years Specs has completed several large projects, reformatting libraries of 500 to over 500,000 compounds within a few months.

 

Our chemically diverse in-house collection, consisting of single synthesized, well-characterized and drug-like small molecules, has been built through global acquisition programs utilizing a network of more than 2,000 academic sources worldwide.

 

In addition to providing compound handling services and high quality compounds Specs offers a wide range of services such as: cheminformatics, custom synthesis, contract research  and compound sourcing.

These global activities are managed from the headquarters in Delft, The Netherlands, supported by regional offices and representatives in North America, Japan, India and China.

Sales

The Sales Department deals with over a 1,000 Life Science companies located mainly in Western Europe, North America and Japan and these customers are served by our Sales Managers. They operate from our head office in Delft, the Netherlands and our office in Cumberland, Maryland, USA.

 

 

Job-description

The International Sales Manager maintains all contacts with customers in his or her region (Europe/ Asia/ South Pacific) and is responsible for the Sales target in that region. He or she is working close together with our Back Office and report directly to the CEO.

 

 

Tasks

·         Maintaining the existing network of customers and approaching new prospects in his/her region

·         Identifying new opportunities for Specs

·         Contributing to the development of an overall marketing strategy for Specs

·         Processing of the Sales correspondence per region in collaboration with the Back Office

·         Preparing quotations for customers

·         Discussing order specifications with customer and adjusting quotation based on discussion

·         Representing Specs at conferences, exhibitions and visiting customers

 

 

Profile

·         Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry, pharmacology or medical biology

·         2-3 years commercial experience, preferably but not necessarily in the (bio)pharmaceutical industry

·         Good verbal and written communication skills

·         Multi lingual: English (written and spoken) is a must, basic knowledge of German and French is an advantage

·         Commercial skills and the ability to do business with high-level customers

·         Self-reliant, pro-active and innovative

·         Entrepreneurial

·         Willingness to travel internationally (25%)
